While speaking to a fellow Realtor at a marketing meeting last week she said we all probably feel busier because the numbers in our profession have declined. She commented that there were 11,000 Realtors in the Santa Clara Country Association of Realtors at the peak of the Real Estate boom. I just checked on Friday and the number was currently 6,259. That’s a 43% decrease.
Is it that way nationally? From the Realtor.org web site here are the figures. http://www.realtor.org/library/library/fg003 In 2009 the amount of Realtors were 1,112,645. I think there are considerable less in 2010. At the peak in 2006, there were 1,357,732. So from 2006 to 2009 there was about a 20% drop. I bet just about anything that the current figures have dropped way off after the dues were due in January. What do you think the figure is now?
